Question about tilted uterus

Is this something they would have discovered during all of my fertility treatments and exams?  I have been feeling like I have a UTI simply because my bladder feels full but it is hard to start my stream (sorry if TMI)...and I just happened to read in my "What to Expect..." book that it could be a tilted uterus.

Isn't that something they would have noticed with ALL of the u/s and laparoscopies? I am having my urine tested for UTI, but they haven't called with any results!

I don't think I really have it (since I think they would have found it in one of the million exams I had), but I have actually read that it does cause fertility problems and now, I sort of wonder if I DO have it, could it have been part of my problem these last few years?

Oh, well...I'm pregnant now and I'll mention it (maybe...the docs get funny when I say I found stuff on the Internet) at my next appt.

Thanks for the feedback!

I'm not sure, but I am curious as to what your Dr. tells you...you would think it would be something they would notice and tell you, even if it's not an issue.

I have a tilted uterus which my doctor could tell from a internal exam. I agree it doesn't affect fertility or the pregnancy, but...it can cause unbelievable back pains during labour. Every time I had a contraction, my body would involuntarily arch backwards because of the pain, and I had to hold on to DH so I wouldn't flip off the bed.

They should have noticed your tilted uterus by u/s by now but it is really not a clinically significant thing.  They say it doesn't affect fertility and I think I read somewhere that like 20% of women have them.  Usually the uterus lies over or on top of the bladder so when they say it is tiled it is actually tilted up towards your spine.  Urinary problems (leakage, having to go often, etc)  are super common in pregnancy. Best of luck!
