2nd c-section and wanting to breastfeed...

Does having a c-section delay the formulation of breast milk. I know that colostrum is already in the breast. With first child I struggled with BF and am wondering if I just lacking good instruction or was my body not ready for the baby yet.

I would suggest asking for help from a lactation consultant or peer bf counselor.I've successfully bf 3 kids, 2 of which were c-section deliveries. And even though I had done it before, it's always a good thing to hear from different women about tricks they've used. Also, ask about vitamins or supplements that can help increase supply. Brewer's yeast is one of them, & I believe milk thistle.
Good luck, & I hope you're successful with bf. And congrats on your coming little one!

I had a csection at 35wks and my body wasn't ready so that first 24hrs was constant feeding and pumping to build up supply and bring in milk. My friend said that contractions help but she also had to do the same thing to get breastfeeding going after virginal delivery.
