I had a level 2 ultrasound years ago and it was so high tech then, I can only imaging how much more advance it is now. My docs thought my baby had downs, but it turned out he didn't. The level 2 ultrasound showed he was ok. Good luck and congrats.
Congrats on the good news,
Thank you again! Saw the MFM, had the level 2: it went great! It's a healthy looking boy! The dr said pre scan with my age I have a 1 in 40 chance of Downs, since the scan was so go she dropped it to a 1 in 70. I still opted not to do the amnio, she gave that a 1 in 300 chance of miscarriage. Since I wouldn't terminate if something showed up I didn't want that risk. He measured 18 weeks, right on track, and the fluid levels were good. No markers or defects that she could see. I don't have to see her again unless I have problems!
I am 41 and I was followed by a maternal fetal team of doctors after my 16 weeks US. They finally found that I have a blood coagulation problem that could explain my previous miscarriages. I had US every month with them. And they recommended I get induced 1 week before the date my OB-gyn had chosen, I am very grateful for that as I ended up having an emergency C-section instead of an induction and don't want to think what could have happened if I had waited.
Don't hesitate to ask any questions, they should have more time to spend with you than a regular ob-gyn.
Thank you! Can't wait to see the baby! Saying prayers and keeping fingers crossed!
ive been seeing a MFM spec since i reached 13 weeks....they are awesome....they have better ultrasounds and are high risk preg spec....they have helped me stay calm this entire time...im now 31 weeks
you should find out the sex of your baby and they will do a bunch of measurements to make sure everything is good
good luck
