endovaginal exam

I was 6 weeks pregnant and had light bleeding. I was sent to the hospital for an endovaginal exam and 24 hours later I was bleeding heavily and gushing other fluids. After 48 hours I had lost the baby. Could the exam have cost me the baby? I had bleeding with my last pregnancy, no exam and I went full term.

magnolia - I too am very sorry for your loss - I've been there twice and it totally is heartbreaking.

I seriously doubt that the vaginal exam caused your m/c though.  I'm sorry it took a year to get pregnant.  Have you consulted a re (reproductive endocrinologist)?  Perhaps he/she can aid you in getting pregnant quicker.

Please don't blame yourself - I know that's easier said than done.  This is NOT your fault.   As Natalie said, take the time to heal & think about seeing a re - best of luck to you!

Thank you, it helps because right now I am blaming myself. I just don't know what to do next. I am 43 and it took me almost a year to get pregnant this time.

I am so sorry for your loss. I just went through a m/c afew weeks ago. I also had several exams but I don't believe that is the cause. I've had 3 healthy pregnancies and with the last one I had an exam as well. Also transvaginal u/s are often used and they are perfectly safe. I am so sorry you are going through this but sometimes m/c happen to us and there are no answers. I was 16 weeks and am still searching for an answer. Take this time to heal, it will get better.
