What's the deal with Fertility supplements?

Another woman's advice made me think about this question:  have any of you used the Fertility supplements that are out there; Wellness Fertility Blend, Fertilitea, Fertilaid, etc?  I'm curious if there is a downside, ie have any of you asked your OB's or RE's?  I've become addicted to finding out anything that may help, but do not want something that may be harmful.  Thanks!

Yes, my regular OB has been monitoring my progesterone levels.  I love my OB and didn't care much for our RE which is why I decided to be monitored by my OB vs. the RE as soon as I got pg.  Let me know if I can help in any way or if you wanted specifics about the progesterone.

Thanks Melanie!  I'll all for natural things that could help, but I know that there are aspects that are not all good with the herbals.  Thanks for the tip.  I looked at your other posts and had another question, did your regular OB monitor your progesterone levels with your pregnancies?

Hi!
My husband and I took the Daily Wellness Fertility Blend--it may have been my advice you're referring to.  When we discovered that my husband had a sperm morphology issued, we asked our RE if there was anything we could do about it.  He handed us a list of supplements for him to take.  In the meantime, a good friend of mine had told me about a friend of hers that got pregnant soon after taking the Daily Wellness Fertility Blend.  (She had been dealing with m/c's and fertility issues for a few years.)  When I looked the Daily Wellness Fertility Blend up on line, I found that the male's Fertility Blend had all of the supplements that our RE had suggested for my husband.  So, he could take one pill instead of 10 different ones.  Also, I had been reading, "The Infertility Cure" by Randine Lewis, and her supplement recommendations were mostly included in the women's Fertility Blend.   Both my husband and I felt it was worth a try and it was much more reasonably priced than buying everything separately.  There is one word of caution on the women's Fertility Blend.  As soon as you find out your pregnant, you should quit taking it and only take your prenatals.  I hope this info helps!
