At what point should I take my leave? Iv got 12 weeks and I'm now 30wks with my first.

Yea your first baby if u have no problems work long as u can. I've just had to stop because of the type of work I do and I have 5 weeks left

Agree, work until labor.  Tie up any loose ends at work 2 wks before due date so you will have no problem not going in!   Went 4 days over with my first and LOA started the day of delivery.

Are you in Calfornia?  CA allows 4 weeks prior to due date you can file for disability leave.  Also CA pays for 6 weeks bonding leave.  In addition, to FMLA, CA has CFRA which allows for more time off, but only get paid for 6 weeks unless doctor believes you need more paid time on disability.

I worked up until delivery with my first two, and that's the plan this time too...leaves me more time with baby.

Work as long as you are able. You will want as much time as possible with your baby before going back to work.

I worked up until the day before I went into labor with my first child.  I felt fine and preferred more time at home with the baby, so my leave didn't start until after her birth.

I would take it the week before unless you're having complications
