An eventful Christmas.

Well, I hope everyone had a great Christmas. Mine was... well....eventful. Started Christmas morning when I woke up w/ real bad contractions, convinced it was just braxton hicks I tried to go back to sleep. I tried different positions and everything, it kept getting stronger and closer together. I kept running to the bathroom to see if there was any blood but none. After about 2 hours of this I finally woke the hubby and told him I wanted him to time them as they seemed so close together. After about 3 contractions he jumped out of bed and told me they were 2 mins apart and we needed to leave. So, we grabbed the kids and drove in the snow and ice at 4 AM in the morning. I was getting the shakes it was scaring the heck out of me. By the time we got there it all just stopped. Hubby decided we should go in anyway to make sure. So we got all checked in and could see on the monitor I was still having some contractions, just not real strong or anything. The nurse chewed me out because I waited so long and since I had surgery a few years ago and have a scarred uterus she said it was too dangerous for me to wait, I am not supposed to go into labor. I had not dilated or anything at all so they sent me home w/ strict instructions not to wait next time and to get in there if it started again. We had our Christmas and I was having very small contractions all day, but not even consistent. The day after we had both our families over and everything was going fine, then all at once I felt a real sharp contraction, then another, and another just that fast. I quietly told DH to time them and they were 1 min apart. We told everyone we needed to go and headed off to the hospital again. Once again, they stopped by the time we got there, hubby said we needed to go in just in case again. So we did. Nothing but cramps, but when the nurse checked me I was 50% effaced and dilated 1 CM. That was a change since the day before so she called my Dr who told her to watch me for 1 hour and if nothing changed send me home. Well, nothing changed so she sent me home. This time though, they told me they have to be consistent for an hour before I come back. So, I was up all night w/ contractions, and now they have stopped again. I'm not going back until they have lasted for over an hour but I am confused as to why 1 nurse would get onto me for not coming in soon enough then the other tell me to wait longer. And they both keep telling me I shouldn't labor as it can rupture my uterus, but then they make it sound like I have to be in labor for them to keep me. I'm so confused and scared all at the same time. What if my water breaks and my hubby is at work? My other two kids came very fast and I never felt a thing until it was too late.

Thank You. So far today has been pretty quiet, so hopefully she has realized it's best to stay put till we come get her. C-Section is next Thursday, so if she will just wait till then, it won't be very long. Jason has already taken down all the Christmas decorations and is running around ragged getting her bassinet and swing and stuff all set up just in case.....LOL I haven't even packed a bag yet, as most of my maternity clothes are already too small on me and I only have a few things I can wear at this point so I need to keep it handy....LOL I have a Dr apt Tuesday and Jason plans on going w/ me to talk to the Dr and see what she thinks about all this. I think she will say to try to hold off if we can, but I need to know at what point should I go in? Should I wait or should I get in there right away? That's the most stressful part, is not knowing what to do. Jason said we will not wait and he doesn't care what the last nurse said. He agrees w/ the first one who said not to wait. I just wish things could remain calm until it's actually time, but then nothing ever comes easy as we all know....LOL

Wow girl, you need to tell our sweet little Trinity to hold on a bit.  You are about 2 weeks from your C-section right?  Sounds like your little girl is anxious to meet her mommy and the rest of her family.  Take it easy.  Time to let DH and your other kids pamper and spoil you a bit.  And honestly, I would talk to someone at the hospital about those two nurses.  Also, talk to your OB and get his or her thoughts...with your history it would seem to me it's better to head to the hospital and err on the side of caution then wait it out and perhaps have extra challenges.  Keep us posted, and Trinity, you stay put and stop worrying your mom!!!  XOXO
