I didn't lose my mucous plug until I was about 3-4 centimeters dilated.  Some women will lose their plug and not start labor for a few days, especially when it's your first baby.  Most women lose their plug as they go into labor.  It will look like a "lump" of mucous and probably be tinged with a little bit of blood.  Do not worry...that is normal and that is what it should look like.  If you have anything more than just a little bit of blood, call your doctor.  He will probably tell you to get to the hospital...that it's time your baby is about to arrive.

Best of luck to you and to Super_Sally888, on your babies.  You both are almost ready.  How exciting...

Mine came and went.  I can't say I remember having a lot at the end though...in fact, if memory serves me, the majority of it was first trimester.  It sounds to me like all is well, and now it's just waiting for baby to decide it's time to make his/her appearance.  Could be anytime now, and wishing you a healthy and speedy delivery!  Take care.

When you lose your mucous plug it means that your cervix is already dilating.  However, not everyone will notice a mucous plug.  After that you go into labor and have you baby.

I am also 39 weeks today.  Best wishes for the delivery of your baby very soon.

Normal duration of pregnancy is 40 +/- 2 weeks.  So you are nearly there.

I dont remember having much discharge with either of my first two.  As long as you are still feeling the baby you are probably fine.
