My symptoms totally came and went all the time with this pregnancy.    The only thing that remained pretty constant was the BB pain.   I think I groped myself every 5 minutes to make sure they still were sensitive :).    I looked up everything on the internet....so badly that my OB finally forbid me to get on the internet anymore cause I kept looking up symptoms of m/c and talking myself into having them.

Yes, I'm not sure about everywhere in the US, but my insurance and OB have done every test to ease my mind and welcome me in whenever I've had concerns or just need to hear the heartbeat, they've been awesome to work with.    they even laugh at me now when I'm cranky and whining about being so big and having a great duck waddle down :).

I had a scare at 26 weeks where I was admitted into the hospital for pre-term labor.   They gave me 3 rounds of medication to stop the labor, so 2 days in the hospital and lots of meds and we saved the pregnancy.   It was pretty scary!   I know they can survive at 26 weeks, but its not the greatest odds.    I took it pretty easy for awhile after that, but now at 37 weeks....HE CAN COME OUT! :).

Every pregnancy is different....all you can do is hope and pray and mark every day off the calendar and check off each milestone as it happens.   Don't think the worrying will stop when you see the heartbeat...I thought it would, but honestly...it didn't.    Still worried all the time, that's normal, its just the love you feel already for that little bean.   Having a 9 y/o at home....I still worry about her everyday, that's just called a mothers love.

Keep us posted on your progress, I've got my fingers crossed for you.

Hey what a fab reply!
! I am a total nut case at the moment, now becasue I don't feel sick today no symptoms at all actually feel good and slept last night I am now worried i am going to miscarry. As when I did miscarry I was feeling great but presumed it was because I was nearly 12 wks!! I google all day and night and look at soo many forums I really know I shouldnt but I cant help it.

Wow you are nearly home and dry, but I understand the worry I will be the same. I have spoken to the midwife on the telephone today I will have my first appointment with her in 2 wks and they send me for an early scan 7 wks as thats when you can hopefully she the heart beat fingers crossed! It sound as though the care is very different in the states to here, is urs all PRIVATE??/ here we have a national health service as we pay taxes to cover heath care so it sounds like they only give tests and drugs if they 100% needed they are Tight!!! I have some bioidenticle progesterone cream I bough but I dare not use it , I will wait for my midewife app she will send me for tests if she thinks I need them.

Did you have symptoms 24/7? as both my prev pregnancies I felt sick all the time and really tired!!! I feel normal except swollen breasts!. thanks for the lovely reply.

I had to laugh when I read your information about listening with the doppler, panicking about her sleeping too much and not moving enough.    I was the EXACT same way.   I have 16 days left until my c-section and I STILL worry everyday.    I'm 43 y/o, have a 9 y/o daughter whom I got pg with the first time I tried.    I married the love of my life 2 years ago and started trying a few months before the wedding.   I was shocked when it didn't happen immediately at age 41.   I then went thru 5 IUI's, lots of fertility meds and 2 m/c's.   So when this pregnancy happened, I was shocked.   It was the worst cycle for me...big 39 mm cyst on one ovary, extemely thin lining...even my usually optimistic RE said....it won't happen this month.    Well....it did and I'm 16 days away from holding my perfect little boy.

Its heartbreaking to have a m/c and we ALL think that we did something or there was something we "could' have done to prevent it.  BUT......there isn't, short of falling or some sort of trauma.....nothing we eat or don't eat is going to cause or prevent a m/c.    Yes, its healthier for your baby to eat right and healthier for momma, but its not going to make or break a pregnancy.   When they are meant to be with us, they will be with us, when they are meant to be angels, they will be angels.

It would be so easy for me to say....don't worry, enjoy your pregnancy, but the truth is....I worried every day too, so I feel all of your pain.    I worried every moment from day one, I used to post questions to all the ladies on this forum.....my symptoms are gone today, what does that mean and then guess what...they'd be back the next day....This went on and on and I would drive to my OB every day just to hear the heartbeat cause I was SURE I'd lost the baby again.    Everyone on this site is SO awesome and so helpful, I swear I couldn't have gotten thru this without everyone.

Also......I ate mostly junk the first trimester :).   Sorry, but I did.   I was so sick most of the time, and I craved MCDonalds crispy chicken sandwiches with fries and a coke almost every day and it was the only thing that settled my tummy.    Now of course I ended up with gestational diabetes and have to inject insulin....but baby boy is doing awesome and is healthy and happy, so I'm true testiment that the food really doesn't matter for the baby.

Enjoy this moment Kelstar72, worry to your hearts content if that helps, and eat what you need to, you aren't going to hurt that baby if its meant to be, and chat everyday with the women on this site, cause I promise it will get you thru.   Seems like just yesterday I was 4 weeks pg and worrying myself into a panic of tears everyday...and now here I am moments away from delivery and I owe it all to all my sisters on this site.    We all cry together, laugh together and pray together every day.

I wish you the best of luck in this wonderful journey.

They tell you to be calm and relax...Like they dont understand how incredibly hard that is to do..

With my 2 miscarriages they didnt check my hormones...I googled and researched and after searching I found out that sometimes unexplained miscarriage MAY be caused by either a luteal phase defect or low progesterone or progesterone that drops unexpectantly...

when I got pregnant again I told my doctor about my concerns and he check my levels even though they were good he did not see any problems in putting on progesterone just in case...said it would not hurt...I believe in my heart that it helped...
I stopped taking my temps after I got my BFP as I have read that they can very and I didnt want to keep freaking my self out...

I took a pregnancy every day for atleast 2 months...my husband could not believe how crazy I was...but I HAD too...

Even now at 25 weeks (yesterday :) ).... I still panick when I potty thinking I am going to see blood...there have been times when I actually bring the TT paper out to my husband and say " does this look pinkish to you " nope its just yellow...lol

Now the stage I am in I have Braxton Hicks contactions every day at which I freak out just the same...

I have a doppler at home that I MUST listen to her every morning before I leave for work, every afternoon when I get home from work and every night before I go to bed...

If she sleeps too much during the day and I dont feel her move often I freak out and get to searching on how much I should be feeling her move at 25 weeks...

The reason I tell you all of this is I totally understand the craziness of the panic...

hang in there honey and always know we are all here for you anytime you need to chat...I am on this site all day every day...It has been my salvation since I lost my first baby last April....

HUGS and SSBD
Angel

Hi,

I went to the Dr he just told me to relax eat well etc, I told him I was worried about my hormones I had low estrogen but I clearly have ovulated like he said I'm pregnant, my temp has stayed ok since my pos test. I have actually got some Progeterone cream but dare not use it. I am waking at night sweating so hope that is a good sighn that My progestrone ok. I can't believe how paranoid I am I am scared to go for a pee incase I see bllod again it's horrid my Dr I must relax else I will do more harm thatn good but thats easier said than done. Another thing is I feel quite well a little nausea in the morning but that soon passes and I feeling quite good my 1st preg I felt quite ill and tired and the 2nd one when I miscarried I felt fatigued too, keep doing preg tests thinking I'm not pregnant anymore. Did you feel different ?? I have got a good feeling about this one but can't get my hopes up too much!!. Thanks for the reply.

Ps: why did ur Dr give you progesterone did he test and realise you was low??? did ur temps drop.

BFP is Big Fat Positive (i.e. positve pregnancy test)

TWW is Two Week Wait (two weeks between when you ovulate and when you start testing to see if you are pregnant)

Congratulations!!! I switched to decaf coffee but did it slowly over a week and a half. I also drink green tea which is decaf also. I'm 37 and miscarried with my first in October at 8 weeks. I'm now 6 weeks and two days pregnant. I'm completely terrified also so I'm right there with  you. I started running a low grade temp on Sat and totally freaked out. I'm also very big for 6 weeks so I'm wondering if I'm carrying more than one  so that freaks me out too. Just relax and enjoy the naseau. Good luck.

The others gave some really great advice.  One thing I would like to add.  Having had 1 miscarriage does not increase your odds of having a second one at all.  It's not until having 3 that the odds go up.  So many women will experience at least one loss and go on to have healthy pregnancies and babies.  I know it's so scary after a loss.  I have been there myself.  It hurts so badly.

I won't tell you not to worry because you will.  I think we all do after something like that.  But for today, right this moment you are pregnant!!!  That is so exciting!  And right at this moment there is absolutely no reason to believe this one will result in a loss.

I can tell you I lost 5 before I had a successful pregnancy.  So many ask me how I got through it, or why I kept going.  As I sit here watching my amazing 14 month old play next to me, I can tell you that I would do it all again if I knew he would be the end result.  And I can promise you that once you are holding that precious baby in your arms, you will feel that way too.  It's not always easy, but it's worth it!

Oh, and Jackie is very correct.  If a pregnancy is a healthy one, there is almost nothing that can be done to make it miscarry.  And sadly with a first trimester loss, there is typically nothing you couuld have done, or not done that would have changed that.  So please don't think it was anything you did.  Sadly, these things just happen.

Congratulations!  I am 42 and 15 weeks pregnant, 2 miscarriages.  It's amazing but it really can happen.  We never made it past 8 weeks and now, well we are over the top!

SuperSally is right about the caffiene.  In moderation, 1 or 2 cups not bad.  I believe the daily intake for caffeine is 55 grams, but not sure. I have a cup of coffee every morning.

Miscarriages don't occur because of caffeine 80-90% are genetic related, or so I am told.

Wishing you a healthly and happy pregnancy!

Hi,

take a breath!  Relax as much as you can!  Not easy, but there isn't much you can do at this stage.

Minimise coffee and tea.  But 1 or 2 cups a day shouldn't be a problem.

I know exactly how you feel.  I've now had 3 consecutive miscarriages in 10 months.  I too get pregnant easily, but can't seem to keep them.  I am 40.  I have 1 daughter who is 2 years and 2 months and so dearly would love a sister or brother for her.  Am undergoing testing but so far everything is normal.

Am in TWW now and though I was having 'pregnancy symptoms' they are now being overshadowed by menstrual-type cramping, so guess this month is a no go! :)

What you are feeling is so totally normal.  Hang in there.  I know exactly what you are feeling.
