OMG I think I lost my mucus plug!?!?!

Okay.. I just went to the bathroom and when I wiped it looked like someone had blown their big'O nose in my toilet paper... it was clear and very stringy.. maybe a little thicker than fertilie mucus.

Was this my mucus plug or am I just having a heavy amount of discharge.  I've heard some women have increased amounts of discharge during their pg.. I haven't.. very little actually.

Is losing your mucus plug any indication to when your water will brake or when you will go into labor???

My midwife told me :when you see the mucus  plug, you definetely call the dr to let hom know but usually there's ne real rush for labor,it usually takes some time-hours to days...Keep a close eye to yr contractions(so funny, giving advice as if I know better than you!)...Anyway,this is basically to wish you a great-happy-safe-magical delivery, cause you're  probably next!

Good luck!  When I lost my mucus plug with my son, it was tinged with blood.  If this is it, I hope you're labor/delivery is quick and painless!

Hey Hannah!!  I know everyone is different, but when I lost my plug it didn't have any blood in it.  I thought it was dh's left over products from being together a couple of nights before.  My water broke the next morning and went into labor at 37w on the nose.  Oh, I am so excited for you. Please keep us posted on how you are feeling.  This definitely means it is very close.  I know you are excited to see your precious little boy!!

It sounds like it to me. Mine had a little bit of blod in it , but it was such a small amount that it was barely visable. It sounds like that was it. I will tell you that everytime I have lost mine I went into labor almost imediately. Some people have with in days or weeks but When I had my 1st, I lost my plug at 5:30 am and started have contractions right away and within 24 hrs my baby was here. I am so excied for you...YAyaaaaaaaaa. How are you feeling? This is so exciting!!!!! Please keep us posted.....Sheri

Well, I just read my What to Expect book on plugs on your behalf :0)....when you lose your plug, if it's just clear and not pink or blood tinged, it means that you lost the plug that's been keeping you "corked" and it's a sign that things MAY begin, but true labor can still be 1-3 weeks off!!! But then the next entry talked about the pink discharge and said that labor is usually much closer w/ that. So, I'm really hoping this is "it" for you but it didn't sound from reading that section of the book that it was a total certainty. How exciting though....ooo the anticipation I wish I was there...piddling along here at almost 26 weeks feeling like I should be 40 weeks.

There was no blood or pinkish tint.. it was just clear mucus..

DH is at work.. I called him to let him know but he was with a client so I sent him a text message.. lol.. kinda funny I thought.  I'm by myself but dh is only 10 minutes away and the hospital is only 1 mile away... so if anything happened, I could easily drive myself if I had to... I actually wouldn't mind doing that.. it would be one of those things you would tell people about for the rest of your life... "when I went into labor, I drove myself to the hospital :)"  Of course the length of the drive would get longer everytime you told the story :)

I haven't called the dr because the card that she gave me for going into labor and when to call and go to the hospital doesn't say anything about the mucus plug.  From everything I have read and from others experience, I could go into labor soon or not for several weeks..  I'm ready TODAY tho :)  I'm 36wk4d. At 37wks the baby is considered full term.  So I'm ready.. my belly has been getting so HUGE lately.. I think he is ready too :)  Last Thur my dr estimated his weight to be around 6.5 lbs..

lol.. you can go for a walk with dh.... that might speed the process.
awwww your 36w.... just sit back and bake alittle more. really let dh weigh on you now...It wont be too much longer. you know you can diolate form 1cm to labor in no time...
Did you call your OB? Is there anyone with you?

No contractions that I know of.. occasional tightening of the tummy but nothing new or different than before... I do occasionally have some pains or a cramp but nothing consistent... all random.. Sometimes I think it is just Jacob moving around causing some occasional cramping.. I don't know?!?!

I've done some googling on the subject.. and it seems losing your mucus plug is just like all the signs (effacement, dilation, baby dropping), it could mean you will go into labor at any minute or not at all.. gosh I can hardly stand it any more.. I have evey sign that labor is close.. 90% effaced, 1 cm dilated, baby is at station +1... and now this..

THE ANTICIPATION IS KILLING ME!!!   :)

Hmmmm....don't know actually, but I think it's time for you to call your doc!!! :0) I was just thinking today how long you've been cooking since they found out you were at risk of pre-term labor, so if you were to deliver now it's all A OK, right? Good luck!!!
