linea negra- the dark line on your stomach does anyone else have it?

For both of my pregnancies I had the line negra the dark line on my stomach in my 3rd trimester.  This time I didn't develop a line yet and I am almost to 31 weeks.  I read somewhere that if you do get one it can mean that you are deficient in folic acid.  But just curious when do others usually start to notice the line?  And I am curious why I might not be getting the line this time around?

I am having a boy, and no line.  I am naturally very pale, so I must last a lot of pigment. Doctor says their is nothing to worry about nt saving a line. Some women don't get one ever.

Not only do i have this line down my stomach. i have a line going down each one of my calves. They are so weird looks two toned my skin.

I was told by my doctor that it has to do with your hormones.He explained that when it's a boy the masculine hormones are higher and may cause the linea nigra....

I am 20 weeks and I don't have the line. I hear that not everyone gets one, so I am not worried.

I got it early too and even after I delivered it didn't go away.

I have mine too. This was my frst bby and everythng was new to me. Im 32 wiks and 4days

i have this line && but it show show that i'm preg on a home test, but i have the symptoms of being preg. what should i do? go to the doctor? i've never had this line before randomly showed up. food sounded gross, but yet im always hungery for fast food. always not ina good mood, you can't press real hard or anything on my tummy.

I have the brown line on my stomach its faint but becoming more obvious to the naked eye now, could I be pregnant then??xx

Thanks ladies for sharing your experiences on this.  I'll keep this post updated to let you know if it ever shows up.  I just figured if I had the line with both births I would have it with all lol

I never had one. I was told it's just how the pigments in your skin handle the hormones. I wouldn't worry about it.

Thanks adgal for telling me that, I was beginning to get paranoid, lol because I did have it with my others.  But you can never look at each pregnancy the same, they are always different.  Yes getting super excited, we just got the carseat from the mail today so can't wait to open it up!

I got mine super early..around 14 or 15 weeks.  I was actually worried about that..lol.  Its always something with us isn't it.  Anyway, I asked my OB about it, and she said that the linea negra has absolutely no bearing one way or the other on determining anything about the health of a pregnancy.  Some get it, some don't, and no issue either way.

Wow...31 weeks.  Your in the home stretch!!!  Yay!!!
