Congrats!  I'm 36,first time mom, 4 weeks too! Just found out Saturday.  I've been having PMS symptoms since Wednesday and just figured I was due to start.  After 4 days no period said what the heck and took a test.   I'm still having cramps off and on but read that it's normal.    My Dr's Appt is Thurs and I will feel better once I hear it from her.

Normal finding. The corpus luteum produces hormones that support the egg or embryo in the second half of your cycle and then in early pregnancy until the placenta forms and takes over.

4 week diagnosis. Did you even miss your period yet?

It's normal and should have been explained to you. That is where the egg came from at ovulation. It will produce progesterone until the placenta takes over.
