45 and pregnant.

I had a blood test at 5 weeks and my levels were 1369 had one 48hrs later and levels had only gone up by 4000.  Should i be worried? Has anyone else had sucessful pregnancy at 45?

Congratulations!! I'm 40 and 32 weeks pregnant. One of my friends is 36 weeks age 44. My grandmother was 45 when she gave birth. There are more risks as we get older and pregnancy is tougher on older ladies by all accounts. However, it is possible to have a healthy baby in your 40s. Try to relax and not to worry about things. I went for the harmony test at 9 wks to check everything was ok. It really helped me relax and be positive about my pregnancy. Harmony test takes blood and checks for fetal abnormalities where the baby would not survive outside the uterus. Congratulations again!! Xx

They like for your #'s to double every 48-72 hours.  You are doing great!  I hope you have a healthy and happy 9 months!!  Congrats!

Congratulations! From what I heard as long as double or better that's great! I'm 46 opted not to do the bloodwork this time (last Nov.did it and then had miscarriage shortly after 2ND test )and wait till time for ultrasound. Today I had
ultrasound at 9weeks 2 days , everything looked good baby in uterus and heartbeat flickering. My husband and I are really excited! Hope all goes well for you. When my mom gave birth to 2nd son lady across hall gave birth to healthy baby at 54!
