Mine never came with an applicator until the last prescription.  I've always just used my finger to insert it.

Are you sure the applicator is not meant for one-time use only?  I use the Crinone gel and each dose is enclosed in one disposable (one-time-use) applicator.  For safety, these are not meant to be reused as you could inadvertently give yourself an infection.

My understanding is the regular waxy progesterone suppositories do not come with an applicator as you just insert them with your finger.

Forgot to add, the safest thing to do is to check with your fertility clinic and/or pharmacist.

I clean mine with very hot water and dawn dish soap. It takes the residue out of the tube. It needs to be really hot water. Let me know if it works for you. Good luck
