And if this lady has a 6 year old with her period she needs an endocrinologist because that is not normal at all
^^ RIGHT! I'm going to look into that lol
I was 11 . A friend of mine got hers when she was 9 .
Wow that's so young, how did u guys react to it?
9 is on the lower side of normal but still okay (if you are considered overweight you are more likely to get it younger) and the age your mother got it also has a lot to so with it
I was shocked because I had no clue what was going on. My mom never talked to me about anything.
My 11th birthday -_-happy birthday to me
I was 11 almost 12... my mom for the several months before I got it was being weird anytime she would find blood on my clothes..but it was from a cut or scrape so when I got my period. I was like... "uh.. mom? I'm bleeding... down there.." lol she never talked about that stuff with me either.
I was either 11 or 12 I don't remember lol.. I know it was definitely before I was 13 tho
I was 14. I actually got my period before my older sister
I was 12.... wow 6 yr old!!
Are you guys ready for that talk? Lol Im gonna be as open & honest about everything (well not everything) as I can. So that they'll know & have all the facts & knowledge about things before they do it. As a parent & daughter I know I won't b able to protect them from everything or be that voice of reason before they make a descision. All we can do is teach early & help build character.
My mom always talked with me && we had an open relationship so I knew what was happening && I knew what it meant but unfortunately I have a disorder that runs in my family that causes dangerously heavy menstrual periods . So , I was put on birth control at age 11 . That's half the reason I'm pregnant now . After being on the same drug for 8 years your body becomes immune to it so when I became pregnant it was because 1) birth ccontrol was the only birth control me && my bf relied on through our 4 year relationship && 2) my birth control was no longer effective due to 8 years of exposure .
The sad part is with girls abled to get there period at really age. It would be hard to know when to have the talk. I plan on telling her the true and everything. She will need to know. I hope my daugther will come to me if she has questions
That's great you had an open relationship with your mom. I really want that for my kids because I didn'thave that with my mother. Though she was always a great financial provider as well as my dad.
I'm having a boy so I don't have to worry about talking to him about having a period. Lol... but if I do have a girl someday, I'm definitely going to talk to her about having a period an having sex. I'm going to tell her what my mom told me. She said when I'm ready to start having sex to let her know an she'll taken me to get on birth control.
Idk the age but Ik I was in 5th grade and it happened on our big Christmas sock-hop party lol. I was in so much pain, I thought I was going to die! Only reason I found out before I left for school is because I kept feeling like I was peeing my pants lol, went to the bathroom and was like WTF?!?! I called my daddy instead of my mom and he almost passed out on the floor lol. I had no clue what the hell was going on that day.
Not at the xmas sock hop party! Lol wow ^^^ fortunately I was home that weekend when mine started. & it hurt bad
I was one of the last girls I knew to get their period. I was freakishly skinny so I'm sure that had something to do with it. (I'd kill to have that metabolism back BTW) but if I have a girl I plan on discussing is around 8-9, even if my daughter doesn't go through it that young I'm sure she will have friends that do and I'd rather her hear from me first before someone scares her with stories
