Contractions...

Do they just come out of the blue?! I'm 39+3 and wondering if there are any signs before contractions...besides water breaking and stuff...

My water didn't break till after I was in the hispital and pushing...my mucus plug came out and throughout the day I had soft contractions and they got more and more intense and closer together.
Some women's water breaks first, others dont. But when your water breaks you need to get to the hospital real soon.

I was wondering Thr same. I'll be 39wks tomorrow and really no signs of labor. My doctor will sweep my membranes on Wednesday if I want but I'm torn weather out not to do it, I don't want to bring on a labor my body isn't ready for :/

I woke up with menstrual cramps, then intestinal cramps, then last my plug and contractions started. I was preterm tho so they stopped it. My mum said that's how all 4 of hers started too. Her water never broke, dr broke it each time during labour. I read only 25% of women have their labour start with their waters breaking.
