steroid injections???

So today my Dr. Ordered 2 rounds if steroid injections because our baby girl is measuring 2wks behind normal and in the 4%percentile. Has this happen to anyone else??? Really worried! She said that if they have to do a preterm labor she wants to make sure lungs are developed fully.

I had steroids injections 2/3 times on my daughter because I went into labour twice 22&25wks- she was then born 33weeks.

She's fine now 5yrs old :)

Thanks, this put some ease to my worries I'm only 25 wks, going in 26wks tomorrow. So praying all goes well and I make it to full term. I myself was a premie and born 2months early.

My son had 2 rounds just before he was born at 35wks. 2 rounds as they only last 1wk each so it bought us some time. It helped him cope with delivery a lot but still required 1wk nicu. 16mths later he is a very happy healthy boy. Wishing you lots of luck!

My sister was given a round of steroid injections around 7.5 months because of the risk of preterm labor. It speeds up the development of the baby so they have a better chance of survival if they come early or small. My niece was born full term and healthy with no side effects of the steroids.
