What is the "ideal" age gap of your children and getting pregnant again?

Thanks ladies for all your input!
I am approximately 14weeks with my third now
The first two children are exactly 25 months apart and I loved that. Seeing how they have interacted with each other and are close to each other but also they both play well withou the other.
They are now 3 and 5. When this one will be born they will be 4 and 6 years older than the new baby.
I am wanting one more after this and am trying to figure how best to space #3 and #4, I really don't want a ten year age gap between my oldest and my youngest...but hubby (and I) don't want two babies in diapers at the same time either...I have never had two in diapers at the same time, both of my girls were completely potty trrained and out of diapers at 23 months of age.
I have never really been one for birth control, but I am cosidering SOMETHING at least for two or three years but that would actually put the oldest at ten or ten plus IF we were to have #4.
Also, considering my age...in that factor of having another child. This one will be born a month before my 28th birthday.

I think it depends on the kids. My kids are 11, 9, 5, 3 and I'm due in September. My older 2 fight a lot but are always there for each other. My youngest rather be with my oldest instead of with my 2nd youngest. I also have 2 step-daughters that are 6 & 4 and they constantly fight with the 5 & 3year old. So I think it really depends.

I'm an only child, but! My husband is from a family of 3 brothers and they are all 2 years apart. We both agree that age gap works well. His mother loved it. We will probably do the same, if possible.

My boys are 10 years old and 6 years old. And I have another boy due 11/30. My boys fight a lot, but they are also really close. They are both excited to be brothers again but they were hoping for a sister. Lol.

My children are not the ideal age apart I wish I would have spaced them out more but I have a son who will be 2 August 19th, a 9 month old son, and I'm 33+5 with my third son

Mine will be 6.5 years apart. Not planned that way,  we tried for a four/ five year difference between them, but my body did not cooperate!   I have no idea how it will work out,  but my older one is super excited to be a big sister :)  I do know my brothers and I are less than two years apart (all three of us)  and all we did was fight growing up and we're not all that close now, so sometimes the closeness in age doesn't matter.  My cousins are super close today and they were ten years apart growing up.

3 years for me. Gives them time to get out of baby stage before having another baby. Also when college comes around it won't be as much of a strain. I want three kids. This is my first and I'm 21 will be 22 in October and my baby is due in less than two weeks. I also say 3 years so I will still have energy to run around with them

Study's have shown children who are5 years apart from siblings do better.  Children need lots of attention till the age of 5.  Me and my siblings are 5 years apart and we all had the attention of an only child but we had siblings do to share our lives with later...   my kids are all about a year some two apart and it works for me.

My kids will be four years apart. I believe that's ideal, because I know my oldest will help and not be to old to play with her brother

My oldest is 14, then 6, then 4, then 1 1/2, and I'm preggers now. I wish my first n second wasn't 8yrs apart because they want to hang under him all the time and he doesn't... he wants his space.

But my friend in college went in for her 6wk check up and found out she was preggers again.

My parents spaced us 4 kids 5yrs apart and as adults we have nothing to do with each other. My husband is 3yrs older then his brother and they're not that close but at least talk to each other a couple of times a year. Our two will be 18mths apart, will see how that goes.

2-3 years is a good age gap, my older brother is older than me by 2 years. & there is only a 1 year and 10 month difference between me and my younger brother.  & I love that
