Welcome :-)

There are some women who think their baby will be born in January - even though they're due in December or February - so they're here....others just go by their due date.  There's no right or wrong answer :-)

About whether it's better to have a December or January baby...I've actually heard the opposite:  a child born nearer to the beginning of the year will (usually) have an advantage than those born closer to the end in terms of readiness for school, etc.  Here (Canada), kids can start JK the year they turn 4.  DS was born at the beginning of October, so he'll still technically be 3 when he goes next year.  I'm actually looking forward to having a January baby - I'm due on the 19th, so I expect to have the baby in January unless I go early (I was late with DS).  They won't let me go past 10 days if I'm, late, so I don't expect to hit February...which would be kind of cool because my birthday is February 4 :-)

Hi!! My due date is Jan. 9th, but I'm hoping for Dec. 31st...my brother's b-day! We'll see..my doctor just laughs at me :)  The school thing would be a September cut off...not jan. People are funny aren't they!! I keep hearing about the tax deduction if the baby is born in Dec.  Good luck to you!!! :)
