HELLP syndrome previous pregnancy, BP spikes 166/99 5 weeks pregnant

I am deperately looking for some sort of answer. I know it is too early to develop hellp syndrome or preeclampisa, but I have had 2 spikes in my BP to 166/99 and 145/80 unprovoked. I do not know what this could be from and am nervous about an ongoing problem again now starting at 5 weeks??? What else could it be? I have a headache in my eye area, and a racing heart. My heartrate has been high 112, 100, etc. Does anyone have or ever had a problem like this?? I am calling the doctor tomorrow, but am nervous to get through the night. Should I go to the ER?? Any reply would be very much appreciated.

Hi. I have had 6 "normal" pregnancies, w. no problems. I am 4 yrs older since my last pregnancy, and Ive never had a problem w. my BP. I am 11w4d today and I went to the doc a week ago and mine was 138/70. She said it was "high normal". Of course i have anxiety and panic attacks, so that made me worry like crazy, which I know will make it worse. I have a doc appmnt on Wed. and tonight Im sitting here scared to death to go thinking my BP will be through the roof :/   They didnt even bother telling me what it was until I asked, but still, it does tend to make me worry if that means Im prone to have it throughout this pregnancy. Well, try not to worry and call your doc in the morning. PLease keep us posted as to hpw you are doing. Good luck hun!

Thanks so much for the reply. I know that thinking and obbsessing about it makes it worse, but its nice to hear that it is not that troublesome. Thanks for the reassuring comment!!

I have had bp's like that, the first is highish but the other is just high normal.  Neither are that worrying as long as the first is not consistently like that.  Try not to worry as that makes your bp go up, try to relax!
