Anyone in their 30s out there having baby #1?

I keep reading about all the 20-somethings and their baby or even 2nd or 3rd and just wondering if anyone waited until their 30s to start their family like my husband and I?

P.S. nothing at all against young moms! I just feel out numbered at times hahaha

32 and will be 33 when baby #1 is due (June 19). 5 years married but I just wasn't ready...other things I had to take care of. Nervous but utterly excited....can we fast forward to June please?? :-)

37. First child but miscarried once before. I just married late and didn't want to do it alone in my 20s. Worked on my career and went to school in my 20s and early 30s. I'm a bit nervous about me being older than many other moms, but hopefully he/she will be healthy.

I'm 28 but I was in the military when we got married so even though we wanted kids we didn't have any until I got out. We had our first when I was 25 when I had my first, 26 with my second. My second one they considered me high risk just because of age but I think that ridiculous I was healthier than I had been in years

I'm 33 and am almost 9 weeks with my first. We've been trying for 4 years! I like that I'm a little older. I'm hoping that a few extra years of life experience will help keep me calm as a mom. We'll see!

Hi bestc, the good news is you have a few months before baby arrives to get ready for the idea. Shock will pass, and then, it's not like you are going through it at 17, at least you are 30 and a lot more mature. I understand that an unplanned child is never the ideal, but for some reason it's here now. I wish you all 3 the very best :)

I'm 30 and having my first child unplanned and didn't even know until a missed period. Both my bf and I are still in the shocked stage of finding out. It's too early for us but it's happening for some reason. I'm 8 wks and scared as ****. So not ready for all this.

Amazing responses! I loved my young wild 20s! Had endless freedom and wonderful memories to last a lifetime!  Now with our careers and home all together we are ready to start our family! And frankly 30s are NOT old. I am very energetic and healthy and this is the perfect time for me and my husband :)

I a and 9 weeks today with baby #1! You are right, it does take some of us a little longer to get to that right place in our lives. It took me 31 years to find my Mr.Right. We got married august 2nd and didn't want to wait as we both have great careers. We were surprised to conceive so quickly but very excited!! Congrats to everyone!!!

I'm 33 years young, and having my 1st baby. I wasn't as settled as I am now, and having a baby when I was younger, would almost seems like an inconvenience. I would've made it work, but I'm happy. I've been married for almost 10 mths so it's a great time.

I never even considered that I was old to be havig my first until I read some of the responses in this thread! I think a lot of the variance in attitudes toward age when having children depends on where you live. I live in a big city in the northeast and none of my friends had kids until at least 29-30. I am 33, pregnant with my first, and will be 34 when I deliver. It's 2014, times have changed, and hopefully biology will catch up soon as well.

Hi I am 35 and I am expecting my first (I had 1 miscarriage a few months back). I will want another in a couple of years but no more than 2. I believe that as long as we r healthy age doesn't really count on paper. Its your physical age that can make a difference.

Hi! Just turned 31 and this will be my first. We totally waited till the time was right for us. We've been together for 7 yes now and it's been great building a home and a relationship that now welcomes its first baby. I think we are young and that nobody should tell u when the time is right either age you choose. It's up to u and your partner ;)

I'm 34 and on my first. On the edge of high risk (I will be 35 when baby is born) but feeling good so far. Exhausted but trying to keep up with at least some working out. Out here in NY lots of women start having children later
