liklihood of being pregnant?

In December, i started my period as usual, on the 14th. In january, i was due to start on the 11th, but didnt. I took some pregnancy tests early, that said negative and saw my doctor on the 15th, i was sure i was pregnant. on the 16th i took a pregnancy test at home at night, and it came back positive! the 17th in the morning i started my period. my doctor sent me for bloodwork but i didnt get it done until the 19th, and havent heard back yet about it. my husband and i decided to start trying to get pregnant, so we have done the deed almost everyday, or at least every other day, the last day we did, was the 31st. i usually am a 28 day cycle girl, and am usually regular, this is the first time i have been late in almost 3 years. in fact i was so regular it was our method of birth control. so i dont know if i could be pregnant, if i am, when would i have conceived, i was supposed to expect my period on the 11th, but it didnt actually come until the 17th, so would i have ovulated on the 31st, maybe before, or not yet? because i do want to be pregnant, but we didnt do the deed yesterday, so should we do it today?

Whoa -- take a breath :)

Well - I'm not going to say that this is a published "method," but I can tell you what worked for us...

I did my research and learned that in most cases, there is really only the possibility of getting pregnant 5 days a month, moreover you are most fertile for 2 days only.  Those most fertile days are the day before and of ovulation.

Now the tricky part is "guessing" when ovulation occurred.  Some women have success testing their cervical mucous, but for me, I felt it was too subjective.  I temped and used ovulation predictor kits.  One tracks that ovulation has passed, and the other tracks that ovulation will occur.  Bango!

Ovulation usually occurs 2 weeks after the first day of your last period, so I started testing on day 13 (some women begin testing earlier).  I got a + OPK on CD 14, so I *believed* I would ovulate on CD15.  We DTD on CD 14 and CD 15 and that's it (yup - for the whole month - we're busy so we had to make it count)!  On CD 15, I got my temperature spike, so I knew that I had in fact ovulated.  If I hadn't, we would have DTD every day until my temp spiked.  Temperatures will stay elevated through when you expect your next menses if you are pregnant.

I fell pregnant the first month of doing this (and we only had sex twice -- well-timed), but everyone may be different.  BEST OF LUCK!!!

You can view my ovulation chart if you'd like and you think it would help... I hope this helps at least, but I'll be hoping that you're already preggers!

im so impatient. so i now have an online fertility planner. its a calendar that i tell all my signs or what not to, and it tells me my most fertile days. but i am totally confused, cause once i put in the day i started, and all the days i have had sex, there are only the past 3 days i have done my temp in the morning, and checked my vaginal fluid, or cervical discharge whatever you want to call it. and it did tell me everyday from the 25th through today i was fertile, which isnt saying much, but now it says today, today is the only day the whole month i am fertile.......i dont get it......and we did not do it today, or yesterday so now im really irritated. ive been sitting here waiting for a sign that i could have a possible chance of being pregnant......watching for implantation spotting, which probably wont be happening until at least the 10th of this month........and im starting to feel a bit rediculous, like a 12 year old waiting for santa claus...........he knows theres no such thing, but keeps hope anyway. its wanting to be pregnant so bad, but probably not being so i tell myself not to get my hopes up. but am soooooo anxious. im driving myself crazy.

im about going nuts already, we did the deed yesterday. i did start charting, but from what i have been reading i should have already ovulated, and should begin implantation in a few more days so i would think i would know if i am pregnant by the 10th, so i will take a test then, and if thats too soon, i will wait for the 14th. and just in case thats too soon, i bought foutr pregnancy tests yesterday lol. im a little excited. but my temp yesterday was 96.2, and dry, and today i was 96.8 and dry. so im still charting, but my chart says today is my last fertile day, but it has said that i am fertile everyday from the 25th until today.that is a nine day window............so i am pretty sure ive already ovulated cause i have about a week or so ago, had the wet, like egg white, slippery stretchy mucus like discharge, i remember specifically cause i was insecure that i was too wet during sex, and there wasnt enough friction.

If your cycle is typical and you started the 17th, I would do the deed yesterday and today to up your chances.  Have you started charting yet?

If you see a temperature spike, you know that you have ovulated already and do not need to "keep trying,"  after ovulation your chances of getting pregnant have passed.

I think definitely you could be!  Test in 2 weeks, and let us know!
