liklihood of being pregnant?

In December, i started my period as usual, on the 14th. In january, i was due to start on the 11th, but didnt. I took some pregnancy tests early, that said negative and saw my doctor on the 15th, i was sure i was pregnant. on the 16th i took a pregnancy test at home at night, and it came back positive! the 17th in the morning i started my period. my doctor sent me for bloodwork but i didnt get it done until the 19th, and havent heard back yet about it. my husband and i decided to start trying to get pregnant, so we have done the deed almost everyday, or at least every other day, the last day we did, was the 31st. i usually am a 28 day cycle girl, and am usually regular, this is the first time i have been late in almost 3 years. in fact i was so regular it was our method of birth control. so i dont know if i could be pregnant, if i am, when would i have conceived, i was supposed to expect my period on the 11th, but it didnt actually come until the 17th, so would i have ovulated on the 31st, maybe before, or not yet? because i do want to be pregnant, but we didnt do the deed yesterday, so should we do it today?

Just my 2 cents:
There is a book out there that will teach you about sperm life and ovulation and all the other things involved in getting pregnant. Its called Taking Charge of your Fertility by Toni Welschler. Its on Amazon.com for around $30. I recommend this because a lot of what you'll hear in chats, blogs, forums, and websites may or may not be true. The methods in Toni's book will give you more reliable information. It teaches you how to chart your basal body temperature which will tell you exactly when you ovulate. Charting also helps by letting you know if you are ovulating at all and if you did when/if you are pregnant days before you would expect it or be able to take a test.

well im pretty sure if u started ur cycle late then that would mean that u are going to ovulate later than u normally would. even though u have sex everyday doesnt mean u will def get pregnant. the first month we tried we did it almost everday and i even did the ovulation sticks to make sure we were doing it the day before the day of and the day after i ovulated, but it was a no go. typically i believe sperm can live inside the body 3 to 5 days which is why its a good idea to do it days before ovulation. if u have unprotected sex at all theres a chance of being pregnant. sometimes they say u should do it every other day so the sperm has a chance to build up again bc maybe the male has a low sperm count. some women get early signs of pregnancy way before u can even take a test. i figured that i was only 3 weeks and 1 day when i told my husband i thought i was pregnant. sore boobs and so tired. i got the first response 5day earlier tests and two days later (3 weeks and 3 days) i had a faint positive. some women cant test early. i think 80 something% of women were able to test pos with that pregnancy test earlier. they say its best to wait til you have missed your period. if i were you i would go with the "new" cycle and test around the 14th. if u test early dont get dicouraged it could be to early. also its better to test first morning pee bc thats when hcg is the highest though it doesnt matter. you could test whatever time u wanted..i tested at night i think.  good luck and look for early preg signs, you may be lucky like me..some women dont have any symptoms. dont work yourself up tho..u could make urself get the symptoms bc your worrying about it to much..just sit back and relax. good luck...and if u have any questions just ask..i will try to help!

im wondering the possiblities of me being pregnant now........for the month of january, cause i would like to be. but i was late for my period for the month of january, i had it, it was just late, it was 8 days late, which is why i thought i was pregnant in the beginning of the month. it didnt come until the 17th, which makes that day 1 of my cycle instead of the 11th, which should have been day 1. so im confused, if i am normally a 28 day  cycle girl, then i am curious of ovulation, would i ovulate according to when i normally would have, had i started on time, which would have been the 25th, or according to when i actually did start, which makes it the 31st ? cause i think we have had sex almost everyday, although i know we missed yesterday, the 1st of feb. and i think we missed the 27th. so i am also wondering how long sperm typically not how long they can, but what is normal and practical , that they live inside the body. so i basically want to know if i have had sex enough that there is a probable chance a good probable chance that i am pregnant, or at least that i will be very soon. considering i want to say i ovulated on the 31st, and we had sex that day. so implantation should occur within 6-8 days or so. and then how long until i can take a test? cause if i go by my "new" cycle, i should expect my period on saturday the 14th of february, and hopefully take a test that morning, which just happens to be my daughters 3rd birthday party.

ohh ok gotcha...well with my first miscarriage i tested pos..then a week later i started bleeding so i took another hpt bc i thought i was crazy and it came back negative..my doc said that if i miscarried that my test should have stayed pos bc the levels can stay in ur body for 24 to 48 hrs. when i went in for my micarriage follow up the doc said i prob miscarried a week before but i was just now expelling it all. and thats why i had a neg result so fast. i hope it was just a false pos bc i know how hard it is to miscarry even if u arent far along or barely knew u were preg..keep me updated.

see though, i started my period on the 17th, so im not pregnant cause not only did i get aunt flo, but every test i have taken  since is negative, they were doing blood work to see if i miscarried.

well my method is just do it everyday! If u were late on ur period and had a preg test come back positive. then u are prob preg...i dont think false positives are very common. if u got ur blood work done on the 19th i would call for the results they are prob in. some women have periods while they are pregnant. take a test first thing in the am. thats when u have the highest amount of HCG. good luck and let us know whats going on!
