Stress isn't healthy for baby. It's a terrible thing that happened and it's always good to be aware and sympathetic, but do not let it keep you from enjoying your pregnancy. People have seen worse and come out of it, remember that.

I just want to enjoy my pregnancy instead this past week in feelin ill when i see the news or think about it. I need to seriously stop watchin the news and keep busy!!!! Im imagining the worst possible scenarios too tbh lik i think about livin in a country thats as bad as other asian countries etc. Having this part of the world turned around completely from what we know in our civilised (at times) world. Am i mad to be thinkin this far fetched?

Hi guys
I feel terrible for what Paris is going through but I think this is the new war for our day and age. I hate the fact u could be out and enjoying life and it can be taken so quickly.
My dad is in the milatary and he just says to me go ahead and live your life to the fullest and don't live in fear of what might happen bc then u r not living anymore.
My daughter who is 20 yrs old was downtown ottawa right by the hill when the gun men went on a rampage. It was the most extreme fear u can have that one of your children could be hurt. She was okay but she has no fear about going downtown and she continue to do the things she has with her children no matter what.
Enjoy life and enjoy your kids and whatever happens in your future don't live in fear.
Take care and God bless the people of paris

Hi ladies -

It's okay to talk about the stress of the attacks in general, but please keep this politics and religion free. Thanks!

I don't blame you for feeling upset. I lived through 911 in NY and have always been afraid of another attack. All I can say is yes you're anxiety is heightened bc you're pregnant but it's not an irrational fear. Just remember though we were born into a post WWI and post WWII world that has incredible stability. There will always be conflicts and risks in life but our babies will have all the beauty along with triumphs and tribulations already predestined. Don't worry. All will be fine.

I live in South West England and share your fear as to what works our children week grow up in. It is paternal instinct to always protect your children, but when that threat is from an unknown entity, fear will always rear its ugly head and if you didn't fear the unknown then you are a braver person than I am  chances are that hormones are making you assess things on a much grander scale, but you're concern is utterly justifiable as attacks like this are out of our control

I know with pregnancy hormones your anxiety can be increased. Just try not to watch the news. do stuff to distract your mind from it.

I really wonder. I feel ill when i think about it or see stuff on tv. I kinda worry anyways but im hoping the stress and worry im experiencing at the moment is mainly down to hormones with the pregnancy.

I feel the same way. I'm praying that stuff doesn't happen in the US. It's terrifying and makes me feel out of control and like my kids are unsafe. I think as mothers we all have that feeling.
