Rh negative

I was just curious. Im a ftm and I thought mothers with a negative RH factor were suppose to get a shot sometime around week 20 and I hit 21 weeks tomorrow and im an A- blood type. I had an apt that I went to (my anatomy scan) this past tues and my doc knew that would be my last apt with her and im without a dr till my work.'s insurance picks me up. So should I be worried about making sure I get the shot soon or just wait till I get my new doc and my insurance

If you haven't had any bleeding or anything then they should give it to you by 28-29 weeks. With my first pregnancy i had the ahot about 4 times cause i had a lot of bleeding and complications through my pregnancy. And my daughter was positive. So far this pregnancy i haven't had any bleeding or complications so i haven't had it yet. My doctor said they now try to give it to you as close to 29 weeks as possible. I am 28 today and will be getting my shot next week. They drew my blood doe it when i had my diabetes test at 27 weeks.

You dont need it if your partner is also neg. I'm on my third pregnancy and this is the first time I have had to have it, my ex husband was neg as well as me so it wasnt necessary, but my partner is pos so I've had to have it this time, I'm now at 36wks and so far no antibodies have appeared so so far so good. If you have a bleed or a hard knock then you have to have extra ones.

It is given at 28 weeks. I've had it 3times. What they do is when you go for your 2nd trimester diabetic screen and bloodwork they draw extra blood and the Rhogham shot that you need is mixed with your blood. You will have to go back 24-48hrs later for them to administer the shot. Its a pain in the butt but it is so great that they have it now! My Mom was also rh- and had 4 late term miscarriages because of it. I'm sure you will be fine hun :)

Im rh negative as well, and had my shot at 28 weeks. Unless you.have bleeding or spotting you shouldnt need the shot before the 28 week mark.
