mucus plug or bleeding?

How can I tell the difference between losing my mucus plug or if I'm just having bleeding mixed with thick discharge after an exam?

:0 im 37weeks an 4days!! I want my mucous plug to come out lol but ya its ur mucous plug losing slowly and sounds like ur little one is almost here ..good luck :)

Thanks. I was pretty sure it was my plug especially after waking up again this morning and there was a large blob in my undies (eww lol) I been feeling contractions all morning but they're irregular so I been trying to stay active to keep them coming lol. I was 3 cm dilated and 50% effaced at my 36 week check and still there at 37 (yesterday) so hopefully it will happen soon. It's weird getting passed the 37 week mark (I had my first the day I was 37 weeks) and not knowing when it's gonna happen. (Induced with first due to preeclampsia)

I think you are just losing it slowly, and I have heard that the mucus plug/ bloody show can regenerate its self. I also got checked last Tuesday, ever since then I have been cramping and I believe I lost my mucus plug on Saturday, it was slightly greenish like snot, and the labor and delivery nurse said was normal. I am hoping I have my baby soon. I am so ready. :)

I got checked for dilation last Tuesday and started having a bit of blood mixed with my discharge then the next day it stopped. But since then I've had an excess of discharge that was yellowish mixed with whitish. Then I got checked again yesterday and that evening I had more discharge mixed with blood and I'm still having it a little bit and it's 6 am Wednesday morning where I am. I didn't know if I was just losing it slowly because my mom said she did that with her pregnancies or if it's just because of being checked by the dr.

My mucus plug came out as a big glob of clear/yellowy jelly with a swirl of blood in it and then I had a little bitbof watery spotting.
