no yolk sac at 5 wks 4 days

I had an u/s this past Tues and there was a pregnancy but no yolk sac present.  My hcg level was 10,000 which went up appropraitely from the previous test.  Dr said my cervix was closed and uterus was soft as a pregnant uterus should be.  I just had a miscarriage in July due to abnormal chromosonmes.  I am so nervous.  I bled Mon night one time.  Then I bled on Wed one time.  A little clotting too.  Dr said this could be just normal spotting.  I go back on Tues for a repeat u/s and am just so nervous.  He did say sometimes the sac is hard to see if it is behind the placenta.  I also know I have a retroverted utuerus- if that matters- basically it is upside down.  Just want to kow if anyone has had similar experiences of not seeing and then seeing at 5+ wks.  Today I am 6 weeks and 1 day and hoping and praying to god that all is ok and when I go back on Tues (which seems so far away) that they will see the sac!!  Any advice/comments are welcome.

I wouldn't worry too much, for all you know you may have ovulated later than you thought. They're probably just trying to be cautious. I've had 3 miscarriages and now that I'm pregnant they're very carefull, I go in twice a week for blood work. When did they tell you to come back?

Hi everyone! I had a ultrasound on 10/15 and I was suppose to be 8 wks 4 days along per my period date (which has seemed to be wrong with my 2 yr old and my miscarriage in may). In the u/s they said I was only 6 wks and there was only an egg and a shack. they are afaird b/c I had a miscarriage in may. Does this sound normal. they are doing blood work to ensure i am not lossing the baby. Ahh! Help!

I know how you feel, I 4 wks 3 days pregnant and I'm so nervous. I've had 4 miscarriages, (3 in a row). I'm not really sure what my levels were with my previouse miscarriages because by the time I got to the dr. I was already bleeding. This time I called as soon as I found out. On day 28 my hcg was 368 and progesterone 21. From what I've seen on the net, those numbers look okay but I can't wait to see a heartbeat, I think I'll feel much calmer then. I'm going back for more levels on Monday, I doubt my dr. will do an u/s I can't imagine that they'll be able to see anything. Time will tell! This waiting is killing me :(

Keep the hope!!  I was in the sameboat as you and I was so scared.  I still am very nervous and prob. will be throughout he entire preg. becuase I had a m/c lasttime at 7 1/2 weeks.  I know I am getting better care this time, not hat there was anything that could have prevented the last m/c- it was due to abnormal chromosones.  My sister showed at 4 mos.  I want to show now--- lol...  I am trying so hard to watch what I eat- I don't want to gain unnecessary weight.  I know how difficult the wait is--  it was the hardest week of my life....  I willkeep you in my thoughts!!

i think i am only about 5 weeks. i will find out on monday. i am normally about 115 lbs. and i think i have been gaining. the dr.s said that with each pregnancy you show a little earlier. my sister showed at about 2 months. it wasn't flubby fat, it was firm baby belly.  hopefully it is just too early to see the baby, your story gives me hope. i was really worried, and now that i see that others have a hard time finding their babies, i am relieved. i will let you guys know on monday. good luck to you.
