no yolk sac at 5 wks 4 days

I had an u/s this past Tues and there was a pregnancy but no yolk sac present.  My hcg level was 10,000 which went up appropraitely from the previous test.  Dr said my cervix was closed and uterus was soft as a pregnant uterus should be.  I just had a miscarriage in July due to abnormal chromosonmes.  I am so nervous.  I bled Mon night one time.  Then I bled on Wed one time.  A little clotting too.  Dr said this could be just normal spotting.  I go back on Tues for a repeat u/s and am just so nervous.  He did say sometimes the sac is hard to see if it is behind the placenta.  I also know I have a retroverted utuerus- if that matters- basically it is upside down.  Just want to kow if anyone has had similar experiences of not seeing and then seeing at 5+ wks.  Today I am 6 weeks and 1 day and hoping and praying to god that all is ok and when I go back on Tues (which seems so far away) that they will see the sac!!  Any advice/comments are welcome.

it sounds like everyone is doing really well. i am happy for all of you. the dr's haven't been able to see my baby yet, but i am hoping they will on monday morning. i have been waiting all week, and have 3 more days. it is very nerve wrecking. with my two previous pregnancies everything went well. i started showing at about 5 mnth with my first one, and 3 months with my second. even though i haven't even been able to see the baby on u/s, i feel like i'm getting fatter. i also cannot wait to wear maternity clothes. we need to milk it all we can. we deserve to have people awe over our pregnant bellies! we have to go through so much, and looking cute is one small perk.  i hope everything continues to go well for all of you and we all have healthy happy babies!

I am in NY and my ob does the sono but I know when I go to the high risk Dr that the techs do the sonos.  Doesn't make much sense.  I had a m/c in July at 7 1/2 weeks.  I actually had  a heartbeat at 6 weeks.  I am just continuingto hope and pray that all goes well with this baby!  Yes, my pants are tight...lol..  A sleeve of saltines in a week, geez,.... i ate a half a sleeve today at work alone!  I gained 3 lbs last week.  I better slow down but I am soooo hungry all day at work.

OH MY GOODNESS!!!!!!  CONGRATS!!!!!!!  You should celebrate with some non-alcoholic wine called FRE, anyone tried it??  I'm too sick now, but a couple of friends think it feels relaxing anyway!  (how sad, right?) :)

Did you see the post about once you see the heartbeat m/c goes down to 5%???  Seems like you are past a big landmark!!  I am so happy for you, have a wonderful evening....heather

Great news, Everyone!  I had my u/s early (my doctor was worried about possible ectopic or molar pregnancies and wanted to find out Thurs. afternoon rather than Fri. morning)  With the transvaginal u/s, the radiologist was able to see the little baby, the yolk sack, and the heartbeat!  I burst into tears!  He's saying I'm about 6 weeks along.  I think I took my first deep breath of the week when I saw the baby!

I'll continue to send prayers and good thoughts to all of you-- especially for little heartbeats for Guatmommy and Heather's ultrasounds!  With the continued nausea, progress has to be taking place in there!

Thank you to all of you for this encouraging place to share our stories!

Yes!  I've heard Prego Pops actually work!  You are so cute about the clothes...I know how you feel.  I am SO going to stretch the whole maternity clothes thing -- even if I just have a little pooch!  ;)  The problem is, all cute shirts and jackets these days look maternity!  I guess that's a good thing....more options for us.  I just keep thinking that everyone is pregnant!  Are your jeans seriously tight at 7 weeks??  That's so cool!  I have eaten exactly a sleeve of saltines, lime popcicles, gingerale and seltzer in the last 6 days.....I'm actually LOSING weight.  Dr. said it's ok to lose up to about 10 lbs....take care, heather.

Quick piece of hopeful news I read:  Did you girls know that if/when a heartbeat is found, the chances of m/c go to 5%??  This means most of us are just a couple of weeks away from that point.....thinking of everyone.....heather
