Calcification in internal carotid artery usually in middle aged-old patient indicates atherosclerotic changes, that is with age, HT, diabetes there is problem with walls of the blood vessels which is called as atherosclerosis, which can lead to occlusion of the lumen and problem caused by obstruction. As atherosclerosis is a systemic disease it is important to look for coronary atherosclerosis also and life style modification is required. A cardiologist will be able to guide further.
