Straining to complete yawn, yawning all day, feel i just need a deep breath.

I have had this problem for a long time, but in the last year it has gotten worse and I cant stand it.  I regularly go through periods where I feel the need to yawn or get a deep breath and I just cant. I try and try over and over to yawn (causing me to get head aches), and finally accomplish it just to need  to yawn again. I am a sleepy person all the time,  but  the  straining  to yawn thing  makes me  crazy! I also have increasingly bad short term memory problems (at only 25), could this be connected to the yawning, and lack of oxygen to the  brain? could I  have asthma?  thank you so much for any help you can give me.

Hi guys... I'm only 16 and I also have this same problem, I struggle with normal breathing, I have to take deep breathes before I almost feel 'satisfied' but yet again I have to take more, it feels as if I never get enough O2, my chest also feels heavy and sometimes sore, I have to take a tranquillizer just to go to sleep 'cause I struggle sleeping with this breathing even my heart-rate quickens especially at night, I don't have stress at all and I really need help with this one cause I had it once when I was younger, a doctor thought I had asthma and then again it happend in june/july 2011 but that was cause of stress of exams and now I have it again but I don't have stress and I'm not an anxious person I'm also quite healthy

You need to expel the stale air from the lungs first, before fresh air(oxygen) can get into the lungs.
To do this breathe out from the nose once per second, as if you are blowing your nose gently. The stomach will contract in, and breathing in will happen automatically.
This is kapalbhati pranayam, I have mentioned in my earlier posts.
Do this expelling of air 60 times, and then do some deep breathing through the nose. Try this and make your comment.
Get the old air out, to let oxygen come in!

I used to have this problem when I was younger all the time because I had really bad allergies. I would just lay awake at night crying because I couldn't sleep while I had this yawning problem. as I got older and my allergies got better it hasn't been much of a problem. I have really bad allergies to dust still and as I'm sitting in my university's stacks right now writing this, the dusty old books are making me sniffle and sneeze and that annoying yawning problem has returned. I was busy studying so I don't believe it's caused by anxiety but I definitely believe anxiety worsens it. too bad my test tomorrow is on the kidneys and not the respiratory system. I'm going to head home and I'm sure it'll get better
