False Negative std tests?
Over a year ago i had unprotected sex with someone. About a week later i developed what i thought was a UTI with burning on urination. I called the dr. and they prescriped Septra. I took 2 doses and broke out in a rash all over and had to stop the anti. I called Dr. back and they said to wait and see if it gets worse. It seemed a little better and I saw this person 2 more times in the same month. The day after the 3rd visit i woke up in excruciating pain and could hardly walk. I felt like i had to urinate and it was so very difficult i almost passed out from the pain. What did come out was large chunks of fleshy blood enough to fill a cup and globs of white mucous. I was shaking in the pain so bad at this point i could not stand without crying. I took one of the septra i still had and the bleeding lessened. I called the dr. they prescribed Keflex for 2 wks and although the blood and mucous was visible in the urine sample it didn't show I had a UTI which they figured was from me taking one of the septra. I took this and i still felt strange although slightly better, no more bleeding although i still had large globs of clear mucous coming out in my urine. I went to the urgent care concerned that i still had an infection. They didn't see anything initially but sent it off to be further tested and have a sensistivity test in case it was positive. It came back with ecoli and they gave me augmentin. I took the augmentin for 2wks and still felt horrible. I then went to a urologist who did not do a urine test just pulled it up from the records from urgent care and prescribed me gentimicin injections. I had 4 of these. All these time I felt like I had a UTI and yeast infection so they also treated me with the diflucan on multiple occasions 100mg for 5days and also 150g take one and another 3days later and also using all over the counter available creams. None of this really seemed to help all that much, just a little bit. About 2months later after the initial contact with this person *not thinking i had caught anything as all my std tests were negative 2 times at this point* i saw this person again.. About 2 days later i developed horrible mid/upper right side stabbing pain that would come and then go to a dull constant pain. I went to ER, they thought maybe I had an ovarian cyst. I had an ultrasound, it showed no cysts. I also developed horrid lower back pain where I couldn't stand and went to the chiro seeking help but they coudln't fix me. In the next couple months i also developed horrible rectal pain and swelling inside and bleeding ( I did not have anal sex). I went to the Dr. where they ordered an abdominal ct and stool testing for parasites ulcers all kinds of stuff. Nothing was found. The stabbing pain and rectal pain would get worse right after my period and continued to haunt me till i would be either in hot baths or in bed with the pain. It would actually make it so i could not move wihtout severe pain during the attacks. I then went to a proctologist who did a colonoscopy to see if there was something causing the pain and everything was normal. A few months ago my periods started to become abnormal *i have abstained from sex since this started*, a couple days after my period i would begin to have the horrible rectal pain and then a large glue like clump *tmi looks like pink snot* would come out vaginally.. This happened twice. In this time i also had a pap that for the first time in my life came back abnormal and they couldn't find any reason except for inflammation. At this time I went to see another Gyn who said all my female parts were abnormally sensitive *my symptoms horrible rectal pain, rectal bleeding internally but not obviously externally, pelvic pressure, little pelvic and bladder spasms, abdominal swelling, right side stabbing to dull constant right side pain, constantly feel like i have a yeast infection that does not respond to treatment, been treated with amoxicillin for 10 days and 14days, keflex for 7days and 14 days, 3 days of cipro, gentimicin 4 injections, augmentin 14 days and multiple pills of diflucan as all my std tests were neg, clear globs of snotty mucous in urine and pink snotty globs vaginally* ... This gyn things i have PID and I am now being treated with Flagyl and Doxy for 2wks.. I am feeling some relief after 2days on the meds, small relief and im scared to be too hopeful.. Since all my std tests were negative, what could have cause this life halting horrible problem?
Sorry for the lengthy history but my concern is could it have been a false negative as PID is most likely from an untreated STD and develops 3-6 months typically after acquiring an std?
