Cold sore

Hi,

Noticed my partner of 15 years develop a cold sore which I dont think she's realised that's what it is...

I have previously been unfaithful and that's known about but is there a chance she got this sore from me?

I have never had a cold sore or similar herpes sore on my lips, body ever.

It might not even be a cold sore? it came on friday last week and its already healed up? seems rather quick especially if it was initial outbreak which tend to be more sever, or so i hear!

That does seem quick for a cold sore.

Obviously, there's no way for us to know for sure - only a doctor who tests it would know, but unless she put some kind of medication on it, or took an antiviral, it seems very quick for a cold sore.

Sure, it's a possibility. You could have gotten it from being unfaithful, or you could have had it for years and years, and gotten it as a child from an adult who kissed you.

She could have had it for years and years, too, and entered your relationship with it.

There's no way you'll ever know. It's just a cold sore. Don't freak out over it.

There's some truth to that I guess.

Her parents as do mine both have cold sores.
