Haven't slept in 3 years...

Since about 2005 I have had trouble falling asleep, and if I can fall asleep, trouble staying asleep.  I never feel I get a full night's rest.  I have done the sleep hygeine route, and have been tested for sleep apnea, tried several herbal sleep remedies, just about everything on the market, as well as ambien, ambien cr, and trazedone, all with little to no success.  does anyone have any suggestion that may help me finally get some sleep???  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Wow, talk about having an "in"! Don't know what she is or is not able to do, but getting a cpap machine may be a problem due to liability issues and it being a "by prescription only" medical device. But if a doctor ordered the trial, maybe her discount would make it affordable. If you try a machine, it would need to be an auto titrating data capable machine with a data card for you to learn anything from your time using it. Preferably one that her company has the software to read the data card and generate a report for the ordering doctor when your time is over. Should your insurance situation change, a sleep study would still be the gold standard. Good luck with whatever you do.

I had the finger clip oxygen monitor for a few nights and my oxygen intake never drop below the normal levels i probably would sleep better with higher concentrate of oxygen , my girlfriend works for a home oxygen center and they deal with cpaps and oxygen all the time so i could ask her to see if i would be able to try out a cpap machine

Sleep apnea cannot be ruled out by looking in your airways. Not that I'm saying you probably have it or that this is your problem, just that a doctor's visual exam is not sufficient to rule it out. It can only tell if there is an obvious structural cause.

If you have any indication this could be an issue, maybe you could ask what the cost would be to do a home trial for a couple weeks on an auto titrating cpap machine. It would at least determine if you are having obstructive apneas when you sleep, even though a sleep study would be much more informative and give you a fuller picture of your sleep issues. Another partial effort could be to have a recording oxygen monitor for a few nights (usually a finger clip or wrist band) to see if there are any oxygen drops when you sleep. While these are not inclusive or conclusive answers, they may be a more affordable starting point.

If you have limb movements during sleep, it's likely a partner would know, unless they are a deep sleeper and/or are always asleep before you. Sometimes the movements involve only the foot and are not real obvious.  Wouldn't hurt to do some sleeping with intentional observation just to be sure.

Sorry I can't be of more help. Sleep is so important to our health and well being, I do hope you find some answers. Maybe check out if there are any local research studies going on that include a sleep study.

Did your sleep study make any mention of limb movements?
