Please help, I don't know what's wrong

I've been depressed now for quite sometime and I've been falling asleep around 2 to 3 am but last night I couldn't get to sleep at all, when I closed my eyes and tried to I got a strange sensation. I put on my headphones and listened to some music to see if that would do the trick but I think its worked for about 20 minutes tops because I woke up after having a dream and couldn't get back to sleep. I think I woke up again at 8 am so I'm assuming I have about 3 to 4hrs of sleep and my body doesn't feel tired.

Ok, so if your sleep problems are not due to medicine, maybe you should talk to your doctor about getting a sleep study and let the results of the study guide your next steps.

Are you on any meds that could be affecting your sleep? Not enough or poor quality sleep can cause symptoms that look like depression. Are you certain your "depression" isn't really mental and physical tiredness?

The sleep disorders we hear about a lot are sleep apnea and periodic limb movement disorder. A sleep study could help identify if something is going on while you sleep that is preventing you from sleeping and/or sleeping good.
