Jerry, not sure what u mean by good wake time practice...unless u mean not taking naps. And I only do every once in awhile when I am sooo tired that Im sick.
Ambien does not work for me cause it makes me sleep-walk and I was doing dangerous things like taking meds and not remembering what I took....it was just a vauge "I know I took something but what was it" type thing.
I have never found any of the over-the-counter sleep aids to work for me.
I have prescription (generic) Ambien and it works, but I very rarely take it.
My wife who suffers from clinical (diagnosed) depression used Ambien generic every night, but recently when to a new anti depressant and that works better than the sleeping pill, and her hand tremor stopped. Go figure :)
Be sure you have a good wake-time practice, there's a long list of actions that can contribute to or detract from a good nights sleep. I'll not try to list them here you'll do better doing a search on the subject.
My problem is troubled dreaming, not getting to sleep - my loss of sleep comes form waking up after a couple hours of sleep/dreams and then having trouble getting back to sleep. I think my fondness for a late "snack" adds to my sleep problems.
Ok, thanks.
It didn't help me much last night anyway. I dont know if it is cause it was the first time or if its not going to work at all.
I am hoping when I go see my PCP he will give me something so, yeah my intention is short-term...we shall see.
Hi and hope you sleep well. Just don't make a habit of taking unisom to fall asleep, as it is an antihistamine it can cause dryness of the throat and with long term use you may develop tolerance. Regards.
