Withdrew from Ativan now NO Sleep

Recently, I asked to be taken off of Pain meds and Ativan for sleep. Since the day I stopped the Ativan I have not had a full nites sleep. In fact, for 13 days now I've gradually gone from 2 hrs to 2.5 to 3 and then 4hrs. But all of this is broken sleep. I sleep at 1am for an hour. then back to sleep for 2.5 then up again and back to sleep for another hour.
I am in desperate need of some suggestion. I have taken benedry, herbs, milk, meditation tapes and deep breathing. NOTHING IS WORKING. I AM AFRAID OF GOING INTO A MANIC MOOD IF I DON'T GET SOME HELP WITH THIS.

Today I bought KavaKava and Belladona. Now if there is anyreason I should not take these meds in combo with what the doc gave me: Gabapenton and Suboxone-Please Post or email me.

You didn't mention how long you had been taking the pain meds and Ativan. But, either way I don't think I would have asked to be taken off both at the same time. I would have asked for the pain med first, then the Ativan. The sleep pattern you mention is normal for withdrawals. It will get better. I don't advocate for herbal remedies to be mixed with other meds, so please talk to your dr. first. He is your best resource for that.

Are you under the direction of a doctor in choosing what things to try? I am assuming that with a history of sleep issues and having been given prescribed meds that you have undergone a sleep study to rule out an identifiable and treatable sleep disorder - am I correct? I would hold off on taking anything to help you sleep unless you are sure you do not have something besides insomnia going on. Even then, please be careful and stay under a doctor's care. You said you are afraid you will go into a manic mood - not sure if that was general comment or if you are diagnosed with a mood disorder. Of course that can contribute to sleeplessness, but even those with a mood disorder can also have other things needing tended to. Best wishes having your doctors work toward resolving your sleep issues.
