I am not a huge help here, mostly because I am only 3 weeks out myself.... but having had several other surgeries in the past, I can say that I have had pain in the incision sites for months before. Right now my incision on my neck is still really tender and even "bruised"  feeling but I was figuring it would feel that way for a while.  Sorry not more of a help.

It can hurt for quite some time .... especially bcz that stitch bundle is not fully disolved .. see, there are internal stitches that self-absorb and those pull and tug under the skin, too .. it all adds up to about 6mos- a year for it to feel pretty "normal" IMHO.

I am 4.5 months postop and my incision does not ache continuously or anyhing, but it is still sensitive to the touch.  I think at 6 weeks it was the same, but a little more sensitive, like a shirt touching it would be uncomfortable.  Now, shirts are fine if they are not rubbing.  My surgeon said it takes a full year for the site to completely heal.  Hope that helps.  How bad is the pain?  Are you taking anything for it?  Is it just on the skin, or is it deeper?
