Agreed with Sidney.
Armour was not created to be a one time dosage and until the patient finds their optimal dose to feeling well adjustments are usually needed.
All thyroid patients at certain times of the treatment need adjustments for what ever reason. Up or down in meds.
Synthroid users are increased and decreased - so should Armour patients.
You haven't listed any tests done so I hesitate on thinking out of the box here. Do you have more information on labs to share with this post?
How do you take your Armour - all 90mgs at once? Have your been Vit B tested?
Most Armour thyroid patients do not need to take a T4 med along with their Armour. There is enough T4 in there to balance them out. - Some may need it -- most don't.
Usually if kept at a lower thyroid function for some time the adrenals can malfunction and Armour meds will no longer work as they are intended.
Being controversal on the bone depletion increasing ARMOUR I don't agree with that and neither does my physician.
You need to up your dose the faiure doctors do is they don't up Armour when you have symtoms you need to up your dose. Also take Vit. C it helps but if you break apart each dose and take the last does of that part at the later part of the day the T3 will keep the boost for longer and will be less by nightime.
Thank you for your input. I do not take any vitamins. I did take a multi vitamin and it would make me sick. I will have to ask my doctor about taking the synthroid also. Again thank you
Hi,
Unfortunately I do not have an answer for you, only some suggestions. Did you try to take any vitamins, like the Bs, vitamin C, multi?
I use to take Levothyroxine before, that's mostly T4, then I switched to Armour, that's mostly T3, now I take a combination of 75mcg of Synthroid and 60mcg or Armour and so far so good. Maybe a combination of the two can help you. You should ask the doctor.
