Any Input greatly appreciated

Hi usually post on the maternal forum. I have had hypothyroidism for 7 years. I had a baby 5 weeks ago. My levels were as follows: TSH 0.17 Free T4 1.2 so from what I gather my TSH was low and my T4 normal. Isn't this usually a sign of Hyperthyroid? They are also lowering my dose. I am just really confussed so any input would be great. Thanks so much!

I agree with the above.  The Dr. probably increased your meds while you were pregnant and now it seems are ready to start reducing your meds back down.

It wouldn't mean you are a true hyperthyroid, but rather med. induced hyperthyroid.  If you were to go off meds. you'd probably eventually go hypo again.  Then at your said level is not hyperthyroid per se, but rather on the hyper side of Lab level.  By lowering your med. dose it will bring up TSH to more normal or optimal level.
