Hi, you are talking about palpitation. I stopped armour after taking it for 2 plus years, how can I get rid of these.
I see why your doctor moved you to Cytomel - It is your reverse T3 test!!
I commented on your last post - your labs were not posted. I suggested on your last post to go back to Armour. - now seeing this -- I may be wrong.
You should call your doctor and see if a low dose of Synthroid would be OK to try -
Start .25mcg maybe. Your Free t3 is low - but your reverse T3 is high - You're T3's are still off.
You may need another test on both of those to see where you are at.
THS .70 (.40-4.50
T4free 1.1 (0.8-1.8
T3, Total 159 (97-219)
T3, Free 312 up from 240, (238-420)
T3 Reverse 27 (11-32)
I was started on Armour because the Dr. thought Cytomel might give me palps because I am sensitive to them.
I only took 15 mgs on Wed. and then none yesterday and all I wanted to do is sleep. Is this normal when stopping armour? I've only been on it for 2 months so I didnt think I would have withdrawal symptoms, should I take 15 today for a few days and then stop? I am so tired I can hardly do anything. I wasnt this bad before starting the meds.
You're ratio between the two looks off. but 15 seems a bit high for that ratio. Your Reverse T3 should be almost nothing while you Free T3 should be high.
I am surprised with your ratio your doctor didn't put you directly on just T3 meds for 6 weeks and ax the Armour T3/T4 medication.
I can only guess that your Free T3 is very low and that is why you are having issues.
What were your most recent lab results for tsh , free t4 and free t3? If your reverse t3 is too high then you will also suffer symptoms from that. Anxiety can be caused from hypo as well, so really need to see your numbers to be able to comment.
