Common Thyroid Symptoms

Are body pains, feeling cold common when hypo.I have to know whether my symptoms are thyroid related. My issue is brain fog and bcoz of that I have trouble calculating, solving puzzles etc.I know this might sound lame but things like these are important for my life and career(hope u understand wat i mean).

Am currently on 50mcg synthroid and TSH varies from 1-2.TSH on diagonisis was 7.6.I suspect reasons other than hypothyroidism bcoz apart from this brain fog i have no other symptom. Also, this brain fog did not appear suddenly.I started experiencing stress from age 17 when i moved to college.Academic pressure, home sickess ,poor nutrition(hostel food) and financial difficulties were some of the causes. This made learning difficult.

When i came out of college and began working all stress related to these reasons disppeared. There is nothing bad in my life today but the stress of the earlier period has hanged on and the brain fog which started bcoz of stress has persisted even after the stressors have been removed for 3 years now. Iam a worrrier and i don't understand the reason for my fog-Hypothyroidism or stress.I have tried everything but fog remains.Rite now i worry only abt this brain fog.
Would be very grateful even u respond with suggestions/experiences

I do not have any joint pain just chronic fatigue.and fog...Do any of u feel cold. This seems to be one of the common symptoms but i never feel it.Am hopin that am not hypo I have reduced my dose to 25mcg for 20 days now and will check TSH and T3 T4 again. If all is within limits I might consider goin off meds.I do not like takin medicines at this young age(24).Besides seven months of synthroid(50mcg) hasn't done a thing..

Believe it or not, when I was too hyper, I had similar brain fog as you!  Ea. person is so different and oftentimes only a med change will help .. talk to your Dr and ask and use the thyroid tracker .. it will help you with med dosing & symptoms!

Hmmmm....then maybe it is hashi's because at a 2 you are still too high. Just a thought, orrrrr   did you ever have your adrenals tested? Extreme joint pain can be from low adrenal function. Google adrenal fatigue, addisons, adrenal weekness, etc. Low adrenal function can cause fog. Start taking good form of vit c several times a day and good multi b's several times per day....they both help build up the adrenals.

Is the top numbers your intial test results or the latest ones? The may #'s suggest you could improve your T3 levels...maybe asking your doctor to prescribe small amount of Cytomel with your T4 meds.....or try armour which has both if you can find a doc to prescribe it.
If you have hashi's then you are still undertreated with a tsh of 2....it should be .50-1.0 for proper supression.
The top set of #'s suggests hypo with both low t4 and way low t3.

Test readings below
TSH-7.57 (.3- 6 reference)
FT4-.65 ng/dl (.8-2.0 reference)
FT3-1.32 pg/ml (1.4-4.2 reference)

I've been on 50mcg synthroid since then. I have taken four tests this year one each in Jan, Feb, March and May.
Results were as follows
Jan test

Feb test

FT4-1.34 ng/dl
FT3-2.82 pg/ml

March test
TSH-0.6
FT4-1.86 ng/dl
FT3-3.84 pg/ml

May test (I skipped the pills for 12 days in April, around 20 days before the test)
TSH-2
FT4-1.56 ng/dl
FT3-2.82 pg/ml

Do you have hashimotos?? What were ALL of your recent test results with the ranges?
You need to know tsh, free t4 and free t3. You may be lacking T3 which will cause brain fog.....so does hashi's if you are undertreated. You need to have your doctor run all these tests with the antibody tests for thyroid so you have a clear picture of what is going on. Then you will not have the anxiety of not understanding. I have brain fog from my thyroid....i was undertreated by an endo who didn't tests all these things....I wasted 2 yrs of my life with constant anxiety of not understanding what was happening to my body. My new endo has given my light at the end of the tunnel with new understanding. My mind is soooooo less stressed now because i understand what is happening. Even though i am still hypo, because it takes time to regulate with my new meds, i can cope much better. My doc also educated me to the fact that tsh levels have to be very suppressed when you have hashimotos. Hope this helps! :)
