Thanks!
I go see my endo tomorrow. I called his office Friday and his nurse called me right back and said, "Dr.D wants to see you now. The earliest I have is Tuesday." So I'm going in. I am authorized to see any doctor or NP in that practice for the duration of the pregnancy. I know my husband and I are anxious now that we know there is an autoimmune disease in play here. We have written out a list of questions to ask the doc. I'm nervous but glad he's a very hands-on, on top kind of doc. I wouldn't trade him for any other endo.
Thanks for your help here. I hope your issues resolve. I've talked to my son's pedi briefly about Hashi's with him but since he tested normal at birth he thinks he'll be fine. I think most children with Hashi's start presenting at birth when its a genetic case handed down from mother to baby... Dunno. Can't remember. But I think most states actually thyroid test now, right? Or maybe its certain states. I'll need to look that up. My son is skinny too. His pedi even said so but his dad is a very tall and skinny man. Daddy is 6'7" so my son takes right after him! Let's hope Biscuit here does too! :)
I too have hashi's for a very long time, undiagnosed. I had 2 successful pregnancies without any treatment. Although, my 2nd, a year ago should have been monitored more carefully. No problems though throughout the pregnancies or with my children. I too think the birth of my first, 7 years ago triggered the hashi's out of the dormant stage. It took 5 years to figure out what was wrong with me and no one treated the hashi's until a year ago when my son was born and my TSH hit 202.
I would think because you are being monitored that everything will be fine. I would recommend having your children tested though over the years. My daughter is now 7 and I am getting her thyroid tested because she is having some stomach problems and is very, very skinny.Because Hashi's is autoimmune, it is definitely heriditary.
Best of luck and just keep on your drs about getting your levels tested once a month. :)
go n check to ur dr. becoz thyroid has an important role in the brain development of the child. miscarriage is also occur due to this (other reasons r also there)
ur endo will increase ur dose i think dr will let u know more about
u will have to go for monthly checkups
