Does anyone know of a good Endo in DC Metro area?

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of a good endocrinologist in the DC area.  From looking at all these posts, I realize the importance of having a good, open doctor.

I live in the Manassas area but work in Arlington.  I might be able to go see this doctor if I can get an afternoon appointment since Silver Spring is a little bit of a hike for me.  Is she into prescribing anything besides Levothyroxine or Synthroid?  That's what I'm on now and I'm blowing up like a ballon - and I'm exercising like a pheen....I just feel terrible all the time and the other doctors say I should be perfect because I'm in the normal range....  I'm so frustrated right now I don't know what to do....

they tested tsh, ft3, ft4, antibodies, sonogram, and iodine uptake. the testing was pretty thorough and gave a pretty clear picture of what was going on.

before your appointment, they send you a packet for a detailed history and list of complaints/symptoms.  i usually write a list of all my concerns/symptoms and provide a copy for the doc and myself.  that way i don't forget anything in the heat of the moment.

i've also had some adrenal testing there...everything is ordered based on your symptoms.  that's why you should write everything down.

i see dr lewandowski.  i like her.  i'm on the right track, and she got me on the right track pretty quickly.

vermonter16 --- Thank you so much for your help

mtkst13 --- I live near Bethesda, so the group you listed could work for me.  Do you know if they just go by TSH, etc.?  I'm looking for an open minded doctor that will listen to all my symptoms and look at all my numbers.  Do you have a specific doctor that you like?

i live in the dc metro area.  do you live in maryland or virginia.  i live in maryland and see a group out of annapolis.  they have offices in annapolis, bethesda, and prince frederick.  here is their link.  http://annapolisendo.org/

in maryland, i think the endocrinologist selection is very small.  there are none in the county i live in.  i have to travel.  i'm sure there are a lot more in dc.  i don't have any info regarding dc or northern va.  good luck.
