yea i have had a diabites a month ago, test if was fine , thank god :)
I have had RAI (2 years ago in June) and you are more than welcome in reading my journals.
If you have been diagnosed with Graves and Hyperthyroidism, I suggest you avoid ALL sun as you will burn to a crisp.
The thyroid antibodies make you sun sensitive and yes, I too have an olive skin and always have had one but only dark patches (pigmentation) like pregnancy hormone patches whilst I was on anti-thyroid meds as they upset my liver enzymes.
Once the anti-thyroid meds were stopped, the liver enzymes went back to normal.
Hope that helps.
Liver and skin discolorations are common things if - thyroid is linked. You can have some liver emzymes tested and rule that out in case.
Diabeties too is another one to check and the A1C blood lab w/ glucose testing is good there too.
Have you been checked for diabetes? I've read that dark spots on the skin (back, elbows, knees, etc) can be an indication that blood sugars are off.
Thank you , nightmare having to worry about these things
why a liver test ????
also liver tests should be done too
yes - the skin can change and usually a deficiency is to blame.
It can be a carotine imbalance or a Vit B deficiency that is making this more noticeable.
I read once that thyroid replacement can cause the skin to be more sun sensitive and more prone to burns and pigments.
I myself had two wax burns and they resulted in bad pigments but they've healed now though.
You should find a good dermatologist or esthetician to help treat your pigment before it's too late. I would wear sun screen and avoid sun and of course tan beds!
