Oh and another thing....I had digestive problems too.
I found that going Gluten free did help me. After about 3 months I did eat some food with gluten and felt fine...but then I decided to go hog wild and get some wholesome Bagels...and now I know that gluten is something I need to watch out for!  I am going gluten free again....

so true the grey area keep you on your toes well i wont give up just have to go with it  untill i find peace and harmony again. I also have hashmo to IBS and firbromalgia can't even spell it lol the sleeping pills do help a bit but i dont want to get hooked on them as for the prozak I dont think I will take them it just seems to be, all these doctor do is give you pills and think all will be well if only  and they all have side affect. I am on 125mg levoth but still have all the symtoms and getting worse i think so here i am 3yrs later at normal range and feel worse for it the bad days are bad thanks for your ears I have found this forum to be a great help for me you are all so kind and caring best wishes nat.

so sorry to hear about your Doctor not listening to what test you may want. After all...it is no harm done to draw a little blood and see what the FreeT3 level is???

I have been going up and down for a few years, my TSH was in "perfect" range
but I felt like a muddy rag being drugged through the sand.

It was not until I came across this board that I found out what test I was not being given!  The Anti-thyroid peroxidase being one along with the Free Ts. (Now I know I have Hastimoto!)
I had a list of symptoms...depression, , feelings of rage, swollen figures, and stiff joints, sleep problems and fatigue, just to name a few.

The doctor I saw wanted to give me anti-depressants, anti-anxiety, and sleeping pills to help me. But I said NO.

I ended up finding out that I needed T3 added to my T4 medication! and now I am at the Tweeting stage...

Most of the symptoms have gone away or have gotten better....not by no means perfect!! and some days are better and some days not. But I am better then before!!

So before you get caught up in the medicine wheel by Doctors...see if you can find a on-line lab request to test for your self...it helps with the doctor (sometimes) to have that in hand...or request another opinion.

Good luck Friend!
In answer to your question about mid-range being the "place to be"...I haven't gotten there yet...so I don't know
I do know we are all different and it is a large gray area we are swimming in...but with education and your own perseverance, I believe we CAN get better and help for a lot of our symptoms .

hi sunrock my doctor wont do ft3 as he says I in normal range now after 3yrs lol not i've been up and down on my TSH and FT4 my last lab results were
serum TSH 2.37 normal range  0-27-42
serum FT4  21.5 normal range  12-22
I have had loads of other test all normal what do yoy think of these test people keep posting on forum that FT4 should be in the middle range and Ft3 upper 3rd range but my doctor wont have it this is what UK is like  unless i go private, can't afford that.

The more meds that interact with your brain chemistry,
the harder it will be for you to find out why you have joint pain or why you feel the way you do...
Band-aids are nice, but long term...what do you want???

Remember...Doctors like brand-aids....It's a easy fix-it.

Perhaps not sleeping well and the joint pain are related to too high of Thyroid medication????
What are your labs?? Sounds to me that you have an unbalance in your thyroid medication and you need to get a Free T3 and FreeT 4 lab report to see where you are.
What you describing with all your your symptoms is an unbalance....

It may help with joint pain but Prozac side effects do list joint pain as a possible side effect. How are your vitamin D levels?
