Enlarged thyroid gland with multiple tiny nodules and heterogeneity what it means?

My 17 year old daughter got a ct neck with contrast because  she is having problem swallowing  the impression were:
*enlarged thyroid gland with multiple tiny nodules and heterogeneity.
* likely reactive lymphadenopathy withibn the upper neck.
* enlarged thyroid gland abuts the lateral margins of the lateral margins of the cervical esophagus just beyond the esophageal verge.
her pediatrician said is not bad and send her for blood work and ultra sound  in 3 weeks. should I wait the much, she is been sick with cough, ear pain  and rainy nose  for more than a month but he keeps saying it may be a virus. she just  look sick all the time and she is tired. help me please.
