Switched to Synthroid (name brand) in February and was increased to 88 mcg. Would this increase cause more muscle and joint pain? I have constant pain in both of my hipsHip joint replacement Hip pain, plus my right palm is in so much pain that it is difficult to grasp things.
I am 51 years old and should have more energy than what I have. I am also post menopausal as well.
It seems that ever since I switched from the generic to the name brand in March, I have been in agony with muscle and joint pain as well as burning sensations. My upper legs are so bad that I feel like I am having difficulty walking. The muscles feel like they are getting strained very easily.
I stopped my current dose of 100mcg Synthroid, will hold off afew days, scale down and revert back to 75mcg generic. Hopefully these symptoms will improve. I'd rather live with an elevated TSHPituitary and tsh Tsh with some hormone than suffer in my present state.
I had the same problem when I was switched from the generic to synthroid. I went back to the generic and the muscle pain continued. It does stop for me after about 2 weeks but then I get the muscle pain each time I have to increase my dosage. I am now taking Levoyxl 69MCG and I know after next week I will be upping the dose again. I also tried dropping the dosage but that only prolongs the process.

I am a 36 year old male with Hashimoto's. Should not be living life in this condition. The medicine seems to be like a poison to me.
Best of luck and I hope your situation improves.

Hope this helps.
