FERRITIN TIBC TRANSFERRIN CONFUSION

I have these results: Serum Ferritn = 57.4; TIBC = 245; Transferrin saturation = 192. Can some one help to make sense of these results; and possible remedial action to take. Thanks

I think you might get some useful info from this link.

I understand even less than I know about iron test results, LOL so I suggest that you might get better info from posting on the Undiagnosed Symptoms Community.   Also, reference ranges are sometimes very broad and results that are low or high in the range may not always be optimal.  So, It would be a good idea to discuss test results with your doctor.

Hi and thank you for a prompt response. These are the ranges provided by the lab:

SERUM FERRITIN Female range 10 to 291

TIBC 250 TO 450

TRANSFERRIN SATURATION 176 TO 280

Thanks

Were there any reference ranges shown with each of those test results?  Lab results and reference ranges will vary from one lab to another so it is always important to assess test results against reference ranges shown on the lab report.
