I don't know. There is room in your labs for an increase, but that's going to put you quite high up in the ranges. That doesn't bother me as much, though, as your saying you feel a bit overmedicated for part of the month. That makes me think an increase is playing with fire a bit.
How good is your doctor? Will he prescribe T3 meds (Cytomel)? I'm wondering how you'd do if you took a very, very low dose of T3 along with your Tirosint ONLY for the two weeks a month you feel hypo.
Do you think I could bump to 75 mcg?
I have had those....the only one that was low was Vitamin D (27 with 30 being the cutoff). Took 3000 for 6 weeks and it is now at 39.
I am so hoping to figure this all out!
The whole endocrine system is interdependent, so a disturbance in one part can cause problems in another. If your reproductive hormones are off, it could affect how your body reacts to your thyroid meds.
Have you had vitamin D, B-12, iron, magnesium, ferritin tested as well? Deficiencies of those can cause hypo-like symptoms.
Hi Goolarra....yes should be T3 sorry:). Have not had my other hormones tested but I am requesting it at my yearly next week. Could other hormones cause those symptoms with fatigue and eyes?
It usually starts about a week before my period and goes until a week after. Then I feel good and over medicated the other 2 weeks. Thanks!
Your labs look great...perhaps a tad on the high side for both FT3 and FT4, but not significantly so. (3.52 is FT3, correct?)
Since your symptoms seem tied to your cycle, have you explored what your reproductive hormones are doing? Which half of the month do you feel overmedicated and which under?
Oh and I am on 63 of tirosint
