Do you have thyroid labs to post? If so, please include reference ranges as they
vary lab to lab and have to come from your own lab report.
How much levo are you taking?
How old are you? Do you think (looking back to onset of symptoms) that you've been hypo for more than a few months? Do you have any other health issues?
As Red_Star pointed out, difficulty tolerating thyroid meds can be due to adrenal insufficiency. However, although the active ingredient in levo is almost universally tolerated, each manufacturer uses different fillers or binders in making the tablets. Some people are allergic to or sensitive to those. A simple change to another brand can work wonders.
I started thyroxine (brand: eutroxsig) at 2am and the next day when i woke up i could barely move or speak (could slur out a few words at best). It was like someone had drugged me. When i was finally able to get up i had to go to the doctors office and was hit with extreme dizziness that lasted for 10 minutes but still mildly dizzy for some time after that.
The extreme comatose fatigue was for 15 hours a day and lasted for a month. My existing numbness worsened as well. I had severe adrenal insufficiency but even mild adrenal issues will cause symptoms.
You can read the article in full but this is an excerpt from "Suite101: Hypothyroidism and the Adrenals: When Thyroxine Doesn’t Work" by Sarah Tomley....
"The reaction varies with degrees of adrenal insufficiency. Symptoms may include: a sudden feeling of exhaustion, nausea, headache, inability to concentrate, trembling, muscle weakness, loss of peripheral circulation leading to numbness, lack of muscle control, giddiness, slurred speech, and cognitive impairment."
